Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator

Position summary:

Long standing manufacturing company is seeking a Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator to work directly under the Controller to implement proper HR practices and be the resource person for all HR related issues including payroll. The ideal candidate is personable, approachable, compassionate, and passionate about providing a positive experience for all our employees. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Administration

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll and associated tasks accurately with Ceridian.
  • Review payroll reports and timesheets for correctness before payroll transactions.
  • Answering payroll questions from employees in a timely manner,
  • Analyzing any payroll errors, recommend corrective actions and facilitate resolutions.
  • Participating in benefits tasks, such as claim resolutions, reconciling benefits statements, and approving invoices for payment.
  • Ensure that employee payroll processing follows federal and provincial laws.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and timesheet data for future references.
  • Set-up payroll arrangements for new hires and terminate ex-employee profiles.

 

Record Maintenance

  • Maintaining current employees’ records and database: Vacation, overtime, sick leave hours, training hours, employee’s personal information, work permit, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly overtime report, hours & cost, turnover report.
  • Write confirmation, Reference, and Recommendation letters.
  • Onboarding administration of new hires.
  • Conducting benefits enrollment process.
  • Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in human resources and payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
  • Proven experience dealing with all aspects of HR related issues in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Payroll systems; Experience with Ceridian an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of government regulations as they relate to payroll;
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office software, particularly Excel;
  • Experience in all year end processing activities;
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
  • Must be articulate and possess good interpersonal skills;
  • Superior communication skills including written and oral in both French and English.
  • Ability to multitask, respond to ad hoc questions and interruptions while meeting deadlines;
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable approach to work processes, problem resolution and continuous process improvement;
  • Ability to work under pressure.

 

 

 

Salary:

Starting at 85K, dependant on experience.
