With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.The VP HR Business Partner and Employee Relations acts as a strategic partner to the Business units by guiding the HBRP and Employee Relations teams to embed corporate HR strategy into day-to-day work and providing professional HR guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business while maximizing Employee Experience.
º Contribute to the business strategy by helping HRBP team and business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processesº Support the HRBP Team in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function or business strategyº Review key business performance targets and their related talent implicationsº Assist the HRBP Team and business unit leaders in providing employees with development opportunities that align with current and future performance standardsº Develop and promote ongoing feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processesº Understand and solicit employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concernsº Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiativesº Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvementº Act as a liaison between the Business units and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal partner needsº Identify new opportunities for HR to add value to the businessº Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trendsº Facilitate a strong leadership and coaching cultureº Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR strategic plan and contribute to functional and cross-functional initiatives
º Substantial business acumenº Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategyº Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall business strategyº Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategyº Ability to collect and synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative dataº Ability to recognize trends and develop recommendations based on data analysisº Ability to engage, inspire, and influence peopleº Ability to develop and deliver relevant, effective training programs to targeted audiencesº Effective team player and networkerº Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skillsº Significant knowledge of HR policies, processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management), and talent management practicesº Proficient in Microsoft OfficeEducation and Experience Requirements:º University degree in an appropriate field and at least 15 years of experience, including 7 years in a management roleº Master's degree in a relevant field, an assetº Experience in preparing and drafting reports for managementº Bilingual (English/French) an asset º Excellent management, organizational and presentation skillsº Excellent written and verbal communication skills
