With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.The Senior Manager, Employee Relation is responsible for supporting the Vice-President, HRBP and Employee Relations as an expert in conflict prevention, resolution, and mediation with a penchant for organizational transformation.
º Manages Employee Relations matters i.e. Legal case management, human rights & harassment investigations, workforce transformation initiatives etc. º Monitors legislation and manages required compliance/regulatory program activities to achieve objectives.º Develops employee relations solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.º Educates leaders on all aspects of Labor Relations management including relevant HR policies, appropriate procedures and practices, legislation and regulations and employee relations related training and learning opportunities.º Acts as a subject matter expert to interpret applicable regulations & policies and makes recommendations on how to resolve business issues.º Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.º Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.º Partner with HRBPs to develop labour relations solutions that support business objectives and are in compliance with legislation.
º Approximately 7 years of experience in employee or labour relations, crisis management, and conflict resolution.º Law degree preferred.º Experience running investigations, performing risk analysis, and providing expert interventions related to workplace conflict (like mediation, facilitated conversations, and group interventions).º Ability to build strong and trustful relationships with a variety of stakeholdersº Strong knowledge of employment law (federal and provincial - Québec) º Process oriented mindset.º Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written (English and French).
