Senior Human Systems Integration Specialist

CAE is a systems integration company and you will be responsible for bringing human systems integration (HSI) expertise to multi-disciplinary projects. The pressure to advocate for specific use is a difficult voice in this environment, so you will have the time and the experience to make a compelling case in the presence of many competing project demands. In return, you will have the satisfaction of helping to institutionalize the early and continuing role of HSI in the broader system engineering for the ultimate benefit of system users.

HSI and will lead the HSI program for complex defense procurement. Your ability to apply your knowledge of the industry and the results of your research is required. You will coordinate human-centric requirements in the design and solution across multiple stakeholders including government customer, prime contractor, and team partners and subcontractors at various third parties, and ensure best value to customer while defending and expanding CAE work scope. All while delivering quality solutions that meet requirements and achieves customer acceptance.

You will be expected to show a high degree of independence and independence, while working in small teams under the direction of a technical lead. You will have a vision for the end result The range of project activities in which you may be involved:

Lead HSI activities and provide overall leadership HSI

  • Interpret HSI requirements identified in contracts and related documentation
  • Lead the development of Human Systems Engineering documentation
  • Allocate requirements across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Coordinate team efforts to ensure efficient execution of programs
  • Ensure delivery of high quality HSI program on time and on budget
  • Mentor more junior team members

Interface with customers and industry partners

  • Clarify and elaborate HSI with customer and partner input
  • Shape customer and partner requirements and expectations to ensure best value
  • Negotiate project scope to keep projects within budget and win additional work
  • CAE position competitively with industry partners CAE content in solutions
  • Work with Small and Medium Businesses in CAE's supply chain to maximize ITB performance

Support Project and Program Management

  • Prepare and maintain budgets, schedules and plans for the HSI program
  • Prepare Statements of Work (SOW) for outsourcing of products and work packages
  • Identify, analysis and mitigate project risks
  • Track and report project status
  • Prepare project progress reports and present at project reviews

Business development support (BD) and proposal activities

  • Analyze the requirements of RFPs and other available sources
  • Estimate effort and schedule required for proposal preparation
  • Participate in technical solution definition
  • Understand the competitive marketplace in order to effectively position CAE solutions
  • Define competitive responses to RFP requirements
  • Estimate effort required to implement HSI program
  • Articulate HSI approaching features and benefits in compelling proposals

Qualifications

  • As a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant HSI field (psychology, engineering, applied science); preferably a graduate degree (Masters or Ph.D.)
  • Minimum 10 years practical experience inHSI

  • HSI leadership on complex defense projects involving multi-tier industry teams
  • Experience in the management and development of HSI artifacts and deliverables in accordance with industry and defense standards

  • Detailed knowledge of and experience with formal systems engineering processes and methods

  • Willingness and ability to travel for work assignments for short periods

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada, and able to achieve and maintain both Controlled Goods and Level II (Secret) Canadian security clearances
