Advisor to labor relations/industrial relations

The association of maritime employers (AEM), Important link in the maritime logistics channel in North America , recruits, forms and deploys the workforce in the ports of Montreal, Contrecœur, Trois-Rivières, Bécancour, Hamilton and Toronto. As an employer of tank tops and verifiers, AEM negotiates and administers the collective conventions of its members who include owners and/or operators and/or agents of ships as well as attachment companies. In addition, AEM plays a health and safety advisory role at the benefit of port operators.

to support AEM in its growth and strengthen the team, we are looking for a labor relations advisor/industrial relations for their three-rivières/Bécancour site.

belonging to the Manager of Industrial Relations, you will integrate A dynamic team, focused on security, rigor, creativity and respect. You will advise the companies represented and the business partners on the interpretation and application of the collective agreement, in collaboration with the various union partners.

  • Make immediate interventions in connection with the management of unionized employees;
  • Advisor and support the member companies of the Association in the fields of human resources management and operations;
  • Administer all programs and provisions provided for in the collective agreement, including administrative and disciplinary follow -up;
  • Participate in activities deployment of the workforce in order to meet the operational needs of the various attached companies;
  • Carry out surveys on grievances and disciplinary measures;
  • Prepare the files grievances and participate in auditions related to them;
  • Ensure the update of procedures and policies and the dissemination of these;
  • offer quality service to all stakeholders;
  • Participate in the planned committees to the collective agreement;
  • provide support for other services as needed.

Profile sought :

  • University degree in human resources / industrial relations;
  • minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial relations or in a position relating to union relations highlighting your capacity for influence, coaching and operational support;
  • Knowledge of the Office suite;
  • Experience in the manufacturing and/or union field (asset);
  • Good knowledge of the Canadian Labor Code (asset);
  • Professional title CRHA or CRIA (asset);
  • You can work in the evening and the weekends occasionally;
  • You have a vehicle for possible trips.
