Polytechnique is looking for an advisor or human resources advisor (total compensation). This person will join a dynamic and committed team that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement and enjoyment at work.

Key Responsibilities · Designs, develops, implements and optimizes programs, policies and procedures related to total compensation in accordance with institutional objectives and policies and government policies; · Ensures the review and optimization of the processes related to total compensation; · Exercises an advisory role and assists management, managers and colleagues in any a question relating to total remuneration, in particular by analyzing, interpreting and applying the provisions of collective labor agreements, protocols, labor laws, related regulations and best practices in its area of ​​expertise; · Represents the School in the various job evaluation committees. Directs job evaluation procedures by applying the provisions and mechanisms provided for in collective agreements, agreements, working protocols, all in compliance with the Pay Equity Act; · Supervise and ensure the smooth running of the activities of the compensation sector (1 administrative technician and 2 human resources clerks). Assure theliaison with the various sectors on compensation issues, including the Finance Department, the Retirement Office, the Office of Faculty Affairs, etc. · Ensures quality, the integrity and data security of the computerized management system and is responsible for it within the Human Resources Service. Ensures that its work team enforces the standards in this regard and provides training for its staff; · Conducts compensation surveys or any other analysis related to total compensation; and having a financial impact for the School. Recommends various scenarios in line with institutional objectives and policies. Provides supervision in his sector of activity; · Participates in the preparation of the renewal of collective labor agreements and protocols by carrying out analyzes and research; Prepares or participates in the preparation of arbitrations, grievances and other management positions in his sector of activity, and promotes the settlement of disputes; · Assumes any other project or task entrusted to him by his immediate superior within the scope of his responsibilities and skills.

Education · Bachelor’s degree and post-graduate diploma in human resources management and / or industrial relations. Experience · Possess five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in compensation management. · Have experience in personnel management. · Have advanced knowledge of labor laws and in particular, a thorough knowledge of the Pay Equity Act and best practices in compensation. · Demonstrate advanced knowledge of tools commonly used in compensation: spreadsheets, databases, statistical software, computerized human resources management systems, etc. Desired skills and qualities · Recognized skills in counseling, negotiation, conflict management and change management. br /> · Knowledge of the Hay method (job evaluation), is an interesting asset. · Very high editorial skills. · Proficiency in French (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English.

Compensation According to the salary policy applicable to the administrative support staff of Polytechnique Montréal, class 6 ($ 66 954 to $ 110 868) (provisional evaluation). >

Duration and / or work schedule Full time – 5 days a week.
